You Shouldn't Be Here
You Shouldn’t Be Here
Sixteen-year-old Angie Stewart tries to contact a spirit when she hears a mysterious female voice within her house in East Henderson Pennsylvania. Angie doesn’t understand why she’s the only one who hears it though. What does the spirit want from Angie and why does she need her help? First year choir teacher, Madelyn Zhao, recently received the keys to her new home which is in walking distance of the dog park and close to her job and the town where her cousin Piper went missing a few years back. Madelyn & Angie are strangers somehow connected by all of this & as they reach closer to answers, someone out there is desperate to bury them along with the secrets they’re trying to hide.
Story, Writing, Pacing & Characters
I love that along with this story having a mystery there is also a ghost story tied into this. There’s so many twists and turns that I did not see coming so it’s not your typical murder mystery ghost story. I know some Goodreads reviews complained about the pacing being a bit slow. I disagree, I felt the pacing wasn’t that slow & it kept my interest. But then again, everyone has different tastes. My favorite characters are Madelyn & Alex. The villain was obvious from the start and he seemed like a cookie cutter villain, to me but overall this story was great!
Overall
