What The Wife Knew

Dr. Richmond Dougherty is a pediatric surgeon very renowned and an survivor of an infamous tragedy and a national hero. Well, it seems like that on the surface but there are dark secrets. Secrets that spell Richmond’s downfall and murder. Addison Dougherty is the second Mrs. Dougherty and a very rich widow, which makes her the obvious suspect in town. Addison wouldn’t have minded killing him. After all, she knows things about him that many don’t and there was no love in and out of the bedroom. But who killed the husband that she planned on destroying his reputation? That is a mystery Addison will need to solve before whoever killed Richmond, decides to end her as well.

Writing, Story & Twists

The writing was descriptive and easy to read, and the story obviously had me at hello at the start. The pacing was slow at the start but then it picked up. All the twists and turns were revealed little by little as though it were an intricate puzzle. My eyes widened literally when I read all the twists that were coming. You also get a little bit of Addison’s backstory to understand her more. I also liked reading from Richmond’s point of view to understand who he really was, and it was a great amount of eerie and creepy. If you enjoy mystery thrillers with suspense and twists and turns, & enjoy books by Hannah McKinnon/Darby Kane, I recommend What The Wife Knew by Darby Kane! What The Wife Knew will be available tomorrow on December 10^th so it’ll make a great Christmas or Hanukkah Gift for someone (or yourself 😉).
