Warning: Short Stories For Middle School Boys Only, Because Girls Have Cooties is an anthology of autobiographical stories about youth and the lessons, challenges, joys and experiences of adolescence that we all experience in similar or different ways. My favorite stories were the first one where Gene had his summer jobs as a kid teaching the value of responsibility. I also loved how he mentioned his middle school stories. Even though I’m a girl I can relate to them in a way. In middle school my hormones were awakening and when we had more male teachers the more crushes I had lol. I also liked how he mentioned how he really got into music in middle school. I did too. I’m also an old soul so I also like the songs he mentioned like I’m Not Your Steppen Stone by The Monkees, Linda Rondstadt though I like her song Blue Bayou the best. I think the least favorite story was the Ouija board story. Whether you have faith in a God or not NEVER EVER mess with that EVER! You’re playing with evil right there. If you have young children, especially boys, this is a book they may be interested in.
