Verity Adaptation to Have Anne Hathaway Starring

This year a film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s It Ends With Us hit the big screen. With how successful it’s been, more of Colleen’s novels are going to get the adaptation treatment. Verity will be a film on Amazon’s streaming service & actress Anne Hathaway will star as Verity Crawford. For those who haven’t read the book, Verity is about a famous author who is unable to finish her thriller novel after surviving a car accident that leaves her bedridden. Verity’s handsome husband Jeremy offers a struggling author, Lowen, a huge sum of money to finish the book. Lowen desperately needs the cash and while in Verity’s home she discovers dark secrets especially an unfinished manuscript that hints that Verity isn’t what she seems…

The news hit today, and I saw it floating across my Google app. According to Variety.com, the roles of Jeremy & Lowen have yet to be cast. Hathaway, Hoover and Michael Showalter who worked with Hathaway on a rom com The Idea Of You (another book adaptation) will be producers. Two years ago, I read Verity when I was in the mood for a mystery thriller, and everyone had been either raving or hating Colleen Hoover. It was a good book, it was different. Though I have to say, what truly made me a Colleen Hoover fan was It Ends With Us even though both novels have a very different plot.  

Anne Hathaway, I think will do a great job, I’ve always been a fan of her acting. Anne has played sweet characters in book adaptations such as Ella in Ella Enchanted, The White Queen in Disney’s version of Alice In Wonderland & Fantine in Les Misérables. (Yes Les Misérables is both a novel as well as a musical). We all know her from The Devil Wears Prada too. It will be interesting to see Anne play a piece of work character like Verity Crawford.
