The Secret Book Society

At the end of 2023 New York Times Bestselling author of historical fiction & historical romance Madeline Martin released details about her secret project which will come out sometime in 2025! The title of the book is The Secret Book Society. The Secret Book Society takes place in Victorian London, England. A countess whose been widowed not once, not twice, but thrice many times seeks to liberate repressed women through her secret book society operating under teatime. Rather than the usual gossip Victorian ladies would partake in, the conversations take a more subversive route freeing women from their current lives.

 Knowing Madeline Martin, she always blends history, a dash of romance and of course a big sprinkling of books and how important they are to all of us. I like the fact that this future historical fiction book deviates from World War II and we are now going into a different historical era. Already I can picture grand estates, ladies in beautiful gowns at teatime with a book at their side and a possible handsome duke or rogue coming along. The duke or rogue has me speculating of course.
