Good Sequel & A Beautiful Bittersweet Ending

Sequels don’t always end up being the best but The Room Of Lost Steps was a good one. I did feel Theo regressed a little because he went back to Spain for Maria again & to fight for what he’d believe to be a better Spain again, but I know this took place not long after the 1st book. Sir Andrew, Theo’s stepfather warned Theo that he would not be ready for the horrors of war and gave him a rosary for protection despite Theo not believing. As a Catholic I appreciate that part a lot. Theo also deals with loss before and during the fighting. The ending was beautiful as well as bittersweet as Theo did finally do more growth.
