The French Honeymoon
The French Honeymoon
You know how I always seem to agree with people that Paris is always such a good idea? In this mystery novel however, The French Honeymoon ends up being the worst idea. Our story begins with Taylor Quinn arriving in her honeymoon suite in the City of Lights alone with a wad of stolen cash. When Taylor catches a glimpse of honeymooners Cassie & her handsome French husband Olivier, this makes her green with envy. This should have been Taylor’s honeymoon and Happily Ever After. Taylor even stalks Cassie on social media following her beautiful photos documenting what seems to be the perfect life. The illusion is shattered when Taylor overhears Olivier & Cassie argue & they aren’t the lovestruck couple they pretend to be. Each character has an agenda of their own.
Writing, Setting, Slow Pacing, Ambiguous Ending
The writing is good, I think the pacing was too slow at times and the book could have used some work with picking up the pace at points. I of course enjoy the setting of Paris, a city and country I would love to see one day. It was interesting reading from all 3 characters’ points of view even if they weren’t the most likeable bunch. The ending seems ambiguous, but I think I know what happens and to whom. This book is an episode of 90 Day Fiancé becoming a murder mystery mixed with The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley. While I enjoyed The Paris Apartment slightly more than The French Honeymoon, I still enjoyed it regardless. The French Honeymoon will be available on April 15th! If you enjoy mysteries and you don’t have an early physical or digital copy, preorder now!
