Something Like Fate
Something Like Fate
The women among Lo Zhao Jenson’s family have a gift of fortune telling and that’s how they will meet The One, the great loves of their lives before meeting them. Lo however does not have the gift though she hasn’t given up the idea that her great love that is a rom com lovers dream is out there. During an almost one night stand, she finally has a vision that she’s been waiting for. To the delight of Lo’s aunts, they tell her she will most likely meet her love on her backpacking trip in Italy. Lo’s best guy friend Teller accompanies her after a terrible break up. Lo meets a guy named Caleb there. However, on their trip in the Amalfi Coast, Lo wonders if fate wants her with someone closer to home….
Great Ideas If A Bit Predictable
Something Like Fate has great ideas in the book. I like the settings in Italy and the flashbacks of Lo & Teller’s friendship. Her best friend in the book’s name is Bianca hahaha. I also like that the women in her mother’s family are a bunch of fortune tellers. I wouldn’t mind reading a book about Lo’s women and their fortune telling in and out of China. I do think the book is a bit predictable because if you’ve watched the movie Only You, starring Marissa Tomei & Robert Downey Jr. then you know who ends up with who. It’s a cute book, but I feel Something Like Fate is Only You but for the younger generation. Something Like Fate by Amy Lea will be available on March 1st.
