The Shining Girls Apple t.v. show!
For anyone who has read the book, “The Shining
Girls,” by Lauren Beucks there is a t.v. show based on the book happening on
Apple t.v. Elizabeth Moss will produce
and star in the thriller. Elizabeth Moss is best known for playing Offred/June
in the Hulu t.v. series The Handmaid’s Tale based on the book of the same name
by Margaret Atwell. Elizabeth Moss is also known for the remake of The Invisible Man. The plot of the book and
show sound fascinating. Not only is it a mystery/thriller, it also has time
travel in it. Below is the Amazon description of the novel that the t.v. show
will be based off of.
Harper
Curtis is a killer who stepped out of the past. Kirby Mazrachi is the girl who
was never meant to have a future. Kirby is the last shining girl, one of the
bright young women, burning with potential, whose lives Harper is destined to
snuff out after he stumbles on a House in Depression-era Chicago that opens on
to other times.
At
the urging of the House, Harper inserts himself into the lives of these shining
girls, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. He’s the ultimate hunter,
vanishing without a trace into another time after each murder — until one of
his victims survives.
Determined
to bring her would-be killer to justice, Kirby joins the Chicago Sun-Times to
work with the reporter, Dan Velasquez, who covered her case. Soon Kirby finds
herself closing in on an impossible truth . . .
According to my source The Hollywood Reporter, Moss, will star as the character of Kirby
Mazrachi, the Chicago reporter who survives a brutal assault only to find her
reality shifting as she hunts down her attacker. The idea of hunting down a
serial killer through time travel sounds exciting. I will post an update when
there’s more information.
