Q&A With Sabrina Moreno
Other than authors, I also do Q&As with anyone in the publishing world and with bloggers, a book podcaster and one person who worked for Bookstr. Today is a Q&A with fellow book blogger Sabrina Moreno. Sabrina’s blog is bookedgrungyprincess.com
Q: Sabrina, would you please tell us about your blog? Did you feel as though you were called to do it?
A: Hi Bianca, thank you for the opportunity. As an avid reader, I’ve always wanted to take part in a community of bibliophiles who share the same interest, or provide book recommendations. Took time before making the leap in deciding to run my own blog and book club. I tried connecting with other readers through socials and joined a few library book clubs, but the hours were conflicting and didn’t have that lasting connection. Meanwhile, I often shared my reading list through my personal instagram. Became evident when friends, family and colleagues asked for feedback, or if they had personal affairs that were too overwhelming I had “just the right book” to suggest. I would then hear back from readers their insight, and gratitude which made me feel great! It was then proposed that if I were to lead my own page they would definitely follow my reading list. So, I decided then and there to start my own blog.
Q: How long have you been blogging for? Which genres do you enjoy reading the most?
A: I started blogging in early September of last year, a few months ago. I love reading. It’s hard to choose now that I have broadened my horizon. It’s a combination of Mystery/Thriller & Fantasy/Dark Romance. Sorry I couldn’t decide!
Q: What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start a blog?
A: Jump in! It’s your own work of art and your freedom of expression. Don’t fear the process, embrace it because life is a learning curve on its own. We are all living for the first time and learning each day. Best to get your hands dirty and live this life however you please. Be open minded to feedback, ignore the bad critics (people have bad days and take it out online), nothing is personal, don’t give meaning to their words.
Q: When you start doing interviews for your blog, which authors would be on your top 10 list?
A: That’s tough, this question left me pondering. However, the book that made a lasting impression that I always recommend young adult females to read; Unapologetically Ambitious written by Shellye Archambeau.
Q: If you were to write a book, would it be fiction or nonfiction?
A: Fiction, I am stimulating with imagination. As a mom I have to keep the magic alive for my son to view life for its beauty. While he is young, eventually he’ll catch on and start correcting me with technicalities.
