Q&A With Jane L. Rosen

This evening I’m doing a Q&A with Jane L. Rosen. Jane has written the novels “Eliza Starts a Rumor,” “Nine Women One Dress,” and her recent novel, “A Shoe Story”. On top of being an author she is involved in film, television and event production. That is quite the impressive list.

Q: What advice do you have for anyone wanting to be a writer?

A: Don’t give up! I don’t say that lightly. Rejection can be discouraging, but if you give up you will never become a published author.

Q: Out of all the books you have written so far, if you had to choose one which one was your favorite one to write?

A: My first, Nine Women, One Dress.  I felt so honored that people, other than my friends and family, were going to read it.

Q: On your amazon page it said you were involved in TV. and film and event production? Do you write screenplays for shows and movies? Are you a producer?

A: I started out my writing career as a screenwriter and was lucky to have sold my very first script to Miramax. I have written both full-length films and Television pilots. I also produced a television show called The Divorce Party. I loved wearing the screenwriter and producer hats, but the author hat is by far my favorite.

Q: Does Hollywood have the rights to any of your novels?

A: Not currently, but fingers crossed!

Q: Are you writing a new novel now? If so, can you spoil a little bit about it?

A: My next novel, On Fire Island, will be out in May 2023. It is the story of a book editor who spends one last summer on Fire Island.

Q: So far this year what were your favorite novels you read so far?

Nora Goes Off Script, Home or Away, The Hotel Nantucket.
