Q&A With Cindi Madsen
I am happy to be doing this Q&A with USA Today Bestselling author of romance and young adult author Cindi Madsen. Some of the many books she’s written are Until We’re More, Always a Bridesmaid, Moonlighting with the Werewolf, Bang Buddies With Benefits & Hope On The Range among many others.
Q: Cindi, what is it about contemporary romance & young adult books that you enjoy writing so much?
A: I’m a bit of an awkward person, so I have lots of extra experience in finding humor in situations. I’m always hoping I can make my readers laugh & swoon. There’s nothing better than an assured HEA at the end, which is why I adore romance.
Q: Do you have any new and upcoming releases & new stories that you’re writing that you’d like to talk about?
A: I’m currently writing Matchmaking: Doggy-style, about a naughty boxer puppy and the Brit next door. My heroine’s been crushing on him, and he leaves a note, finally asking out…her dog. Having a matchmaking dog has been super fun. I also have a hilarious women’s fiction project coming out next year that I’m super excited about.
Q: Would it be fair to say that the characters and worlds within your novels are taken from bits and pieces of real people and places?
A: Definitely. I’m a collector of stories and dialogue and as I told my husband the other day, there will be a little bit of him in every hero too. <3
Q: If Hollywood were to get the rights to your work, who would be the dream cast to play the characters you created?
A: For Moonlighting with the Werewolf, I’d go with Florian Munteanu for Conall (I fell in love with him watching Creed III) and Kat Dennings as Kerrigan.
Q: How does it feel knowing that your books are on the USA Today Bestsellers List? What qualifies for a book to be on the USA Today Bestsellers List?
A: It was one of my goals when I first began writing. To make it on the list, you must sell a lot of books in a week, and the amount fluctuates along with the market.
