News came out recently that the show, The Witcher
based on the novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski is getting a spin off
show called Witcher Blood Origin. Lauren Hissrich the show runner of the six
part series is excited. According to Lauren’s twitter it has been the hardest
secret to keep. Judging by the tweet she is excited!
This
has been the toughest secret to keep! I’ve always wanted to dive deeper into
the myth and lore of the Continent, and now fans will have a chance to explore
it with @declandebarra in a prequel series, The Witcher: BLOOD ORIGIN. Elves,
and enemies, and the end, oh my…
According to my source eurogamer.net, It will be a prequel story set 1200 years
before Geralt and the events we’re familiar with, and will chart the origin of
the Witchers and how they came to be. Hissrich confirmed Witcher author Andrzej
Sapkowski will, “Hell yes,” be involved.
Although I haven’t read The Witcher novels (I want
to eventually) I fell in love with the show and watched and re-watched it. I
actually liked The Witcher better than Game of Thrones even. To know that there
will be a prequel show with the author involved is exciting. We’ll see how The
Witchers will become who they are and the origin. I will update when I find out
more.
