One Golden Summer

One Golden Summer: Brings A Whole Lot Of Sun

I never anticipated Charlie Florek.

Good things happen at the lake as Nan Everly, Alice’s grandmother says. Alice had spent one amazing summer at the lake with Nan when she was seventeen and with her camera captured the image of three teenagers with a wide smile on their faces as they rode across the water on a yellow speedboat. This image would coincide with the present as years later after Nan breaks her hip, Alilce and Nan return to the lake for a vacation. Alice meets the boy in the photo seventeen years later Charlie Florek. The two become friends and are both doing everything they can not to lose their heart to each other.

Story, Characters & Descriptions That Have A lot of Sun

As soon as I saw the names of Charlie, Sam & Percy I realized this was a sequel to Every Summer After a book I also enjoyed. What I think is amazing is you can read Every Summer After first and then read One Golden Summer but each book can be read as a standalone book as well. I love how both Alice & Charlie grew as characters. Both realized things about themselves & each other & the age-old reminder be honest about your feelings which is so hard and terrifying because nothing is guaranteed. The book made me emotional at points and if a book brings tears and laughter and every emotion in between, it has done its job. Carley Fortune’s descriptions of the lake and the golden sun were so descriptive it makes you feel as though you are there. If you need a love story, great reminders and lessons with a vacation by the lake, pick up a copy of One Golden Summer wherever you get your books. Thank you for writing this book, Carley Fortune! I can’t wait to do a Q&A with you in the future and read beautiful stories you come up with next.
