Maybe It's Fate
Maybe It’s Fate
Antonia Bernardi & Miriam “Miri” Vaughn have a bond of friendship that’s as close as sisters. The two made time for each other despite their busy lives. One day, fate would have Antonia drop her high-powered career & boyfriend when Miriam Vaughn is diagnosed with an aggressive cancer that has given her only a few months to live. Antonia, who’s like an aunt to Miri’s two children seventeen-year-old Cutter & seven-year-old Nova, will now have to step into the role as guardian and second mom along with balancing grief. There is also Cutter’s handsome coach Weston Schmidt who becomes a safe space for Antonia and the children. There’s so much going on to think about romance, but maybe it’s time that they do…. Maybe It’s Fate is a story about love in all its forms from friendship, family not always being blood and of course romance…
Love in all its forms
Last year I became a fan of Heidi McLaughlin after reading her novel The Art Of Starting Over & doing Q&As with her. I knew when her new novel Maybe It’s Fate was coming out this April, that I would be speeding through it. Sure enough, that’s what I spent Presidents Day weekend doing. I love the descriptions of Grove Hill, the small town in New Hampshire, and of the quaint farmhouse not too far in the country. The story is a reminder that family isn’t always blood and that family is sometimes the people we choose which are our friends. It was good reading about Miri’s parents getting a stern talking to about how they had so many years to be in their daughter’s life when they had the chance. Weston is a reminder there are good men out there. I’d want a guy like him in my corner. Antonia is a friend I would want. Antonia and Miri’s friendship remind me of the close friendships I have and how fortunate I am. One of those many friendships is with Katelyn Stumler who is like a sister to me as Antonia and Miria are with each other. This story will make you laugh, cry and make you think. Maybe It’s Fate is available today on April 1st wherever you get your books!
