Greta Gerwig rumored to direct The Chronicles of Narnia for Netflix

It’s been well known since 2018 that Netflix had the rights to C.S. Lewis’s Narnia novels but for the past few years there has been no casting or director attached to it. That may change as Netflix is looking to begin the franchise with two films and they want Greg Gerwig to be the director for both of them. Gerwig is no stranger to directing, she has worked on the movies Lady Bird, Little Women and the upcoming Barbie movie which comes out in the summer of 2023 which I’m looking forward to seeing. It was previously thought that Netflix would make all 7 of the Narnia books into a tv series though according to mdjonline.com they will do all 7 of the novels as movies.

 While I am looking forward to the Narnia movies on Netflix I am hoping Netflix does the films justice. Walt Disney company did a great job with Lion Witch and the Wardrobe, they did a decent job of Prince Caspian but Voyage of the Dawn Treader was the worst out of all three of them. I also hope that Netflix keeps to what C.S Lewis would have wished, while the Narnia novels are fantasy it also has Christian elements in there.
