Enola Holmes Drama and Premiere Date
Good Evening everyone or Good Morning depending on which side of the world you are on. It seems as though Netflix can’t get anything right can they? Whether it’s for their content based on books or their non-book content they are getting lots of backlash it seems. First the Sherlock Holmes Estate wants to sue Netflix for making Sherlock a sympathetic character too early on. Now Netflix is getting backlash for being historically inaccurate. According to decider.com This week, Netflix released the official poster and teaser for Enola Holmes, a Sherlock Holmes spinoff starring Millie Bobby Brown. The film is set in 1884, but eagle-eyed fans noticed that the Enola Holmes poster inexplicably includes an image of London’s Portcullis House, a government building that was finished in… 2001. Talk about a marketing fail.
Enola Holmes is set in 1884, and yet, the poster seems to have forgotten that fact. Shortly after the teaser and poster were released, Twitter users pointed out that the Enola Holmes poster includes an image of Portcullis House, an office building in Westminster, London. Portcullis House was commissioned in 1992, more than 100 years after the Netflix film takes place, and completed in 2001, so it doesn’t make a ton of sense that it was included alongside London landmarks like Big Ben and the Hall of Parliament.
In better news the premiere date for Enola Holmes premieres on Netflix September 23rd. That’s almost a month from now. It seems as though this summer came like a thief in the night since we’re at the end of August and September isn’t far off. I provided the link to the trailer here in the article because why not. https://youtu.be/DkLS_VwPGzQ If it wont let you view the link here check it out on youtube. I do want to hear everyone’s opinions. Will this be something you want to see?
