Books being adapted to TV Shows in 2021

Hello everyone! So sorry I’ve been missing in action lately. It’s been busy getting everything prepared for the Christmas season! True we can’t go out and do our Christmas shopping due to the corona virus, but I’ve been shopping for book related news, and reading books that are worth reviewing. My grandmother and I have also been busy baking and cooking delicious meals. Despite the corona virus at least for those of us who love to read and watch tv theres been plenty of new books and shows to keep us distracted. What makes this newsletter better is there is a ton of books being adapted to t.v. and film. This one will exclusively focus on t.v shows. Since the list I founded from radiotimes.com has books I’ve already reported on I’m going to put down books that I haven’t reported on in the past that are going to be t.v. shows in 2021.

“The Pursuit of Love,” by Nancy Mitford is a novel about romance being turned into a BBC One series. The novel and show is set between two world wars. The show follows two best friends Linda and Fanny who embark on a tour of Europe. Dominic West and from The Wire and The Affair will also star and Andrew Scott from the Wire will also star as well. Although this is a BBC One series, I have a feeling this will air on PBS months later in the US. Knowing England their stuff airs first in England before airing in the United States. This must be the time where Lily and Dominic met some controversy because they were very touchy feely and Dominic was still married to his wife. Now Dominic and his wife are headed for splitsville. Some advice for you Lily, keep your hands off of married men find someone single.

“Anatomy of a Scandal,” by Sarah Vaughan is a book and series that takes place in the shadowy corners of Westminster, London when a charismatic and up and coming British politician is accused of sexually assaulting his aid. The show stars Sienna Miller, Rupert Friend and Downton Abbey Star Michelle Dockery.

“Firefly Lane,” by Kristin Hannah is another novel of hers that is getting an adaptation. The other book getting adapted is “The Nightingale.” “Firefly Lane,” is about best friends going through the highs and lows of life. One is a famed reporter the other is a stay at home mom. The actresses staring as the duo is Katherine Heigl from Grey’s Anatomy and Sarah Chalke from the TV. Show, Scrubs.

“All Creatures Great and Small,” by James Herriots based on his novel of true events. I’m so glad this show is renewed for a season 2. The first season airs for those of us in the United States on January 10th of 2021 on PBS, and it was already renewed in England. It’s also a remake of the original show from the 70s as well as a book based on James Herriot’s real life. The series/book/true story follows a rural vet in 1930s Yorkshire. The drama stars Samuel West, Anna Madeley, newcomer Nicholas Ralph, Matthew Lewis who is best known for Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter and this also stars the late Dame Diana Rigg from Game of Thrones and James Bond in her final role.

I know 2020 wasn’t an easy year for anyone. I hope my blog gives everyone some good news in between that isn’t corona virus or politics. I also hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. As always happy reading! J
