Apple TV + casted this actress to be the lead in The Last Thing He Told Me based on Best Selling novel!

This is your favorite blogger Bianca who has more book related news for you all. For those who don’t know, Sunshine Productions ran by Reese Witherspoon has optioned the rights to Laura Dave’s bestselling novel “The Last Thing He Ever Told Me.” Julia Roberts was set to star as the main lead in the mini-series, but due to scheduling conflicts the actress had to drop out of the role. Now Jennifer Garner, actress and ex-wife of Ben Affleck is set to take over the part in Julia Roberts place. The novel is about Hannah Michaels. Hannah is happily married to her husband Owen after a year. Though everything changes one day when Owen disappears and leaves Hannah a note that says Protect her. Hannah knows who the note refers to, Owen’s daughter Baily from his first marriage who wants nothing to do with her. Together though Hannah and Baily work together to find out whom Owen is and why he disappeared.

Although the book wasn’t my cup of tea there were things about it that I enjoyed. Hopefully the Apple series ties up the ending better than the book. I also like the casting of Jennifer Garner for the role of Hannah better than Roberts. In the novel Hannah was in her late thirties and Julia Roberts would have been a tad too old to play the character. According to my source DEADLINE, The Last Thing He Told Me is executive produced by Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine, as well as Garner and married duo Dave and Singer. This marks the second Apple + limited series Garner is headlining and executive producing alongside an adaptation of Amy Silverstein’s memoir “My Glory Was I had Such Friends.”
