Disney Developing a new musical based on a popular fairytale

I meant to write this newsletter two days ago but was preoccupied. Disney is developing a new musical comedy movie called Penelope. Not too much is known about it. According to Deadline.com Penelope is a unique twist on the classic fairytale The Princess and the Pea. Sources also add that it is in early development but is being developed for a theatrical release. So right now not much is known, however I’m very excited about it. I love musicals for one thing. Also Disney is doing a Princess and the Pea movie. “Princess and the Pea,” was written by Danish author Hans Christian Anderson yes he’s the same man who wrote, “The Snow Queen,” and “The Little Mermaid.”

 It’ll be really neat to see how Disney does “The Princess and the Pea,” it’s also nice that it’s not a fairytale that’s been done to death like “Snow White,” and “Cinderella etc. The Deadline article doesn’t give out much information about whether Penelope will be a live action movie or not. Being a fan of classic fairytales, myths, folklore and legends, I had to absolutely geek out over this. I will update you all when I know more.
