The Lost Empire of Emanuel Nobel
The Lost Empire of Emanuel Nobel: Romanovs, Revolutionaries And The Forgotten Titan Who Fueled The World
Second to the Czar/Tsar, Emanuel Nobel was the wealthiest man in early twentieth century Russia, and perhaps the world. Emanuel and his family grew the petroleum industry even greater than John D. Rockefeller’s Standard Oil. Emanuel’s uncle Alfred would become world famous due to the Nobel Peace Prize. However, the Nobel family has been forgotten. The book also covers the history happening during this time with the Czars of Russia such as Nicholas I, Alexander III & Nicholas II as well as the rise of the communists such as Joseph Stalin who became one of the most brutal dictators in history.
Interesting Lesser Part Of History
I knew nothing about the Nobel family. It was interesting reading about the first generation going from Sweden to Russia. I also liked that Douglas Brunt, the author, covered the Romanovs and Revolutionaries and what would come to pass. Even if you aren’t into the wealthy oil families, if you also like reading about early 20th century history as well as the Romanovs, there will be something interesting there for someone. While I know this is a nonfiction book, it did read like a textbook at times. The Lost Empire Of Emanuel Nobel will be available on May 19th wherever you get your books!
