Dear Missing Friend
Dear Missing Friend
Dear Missing Friend is a story being told through letter writing from Catherine McGuirk as she navigates love, loss, heartbreak and dreams as an Irish Immigrant in 1800s America. Catherine is torn between her seafaring husband, the suitor she once refused and her own dreams and we see her life unfold through the choices she and others made as well as the words she writes down.
Family History & Tales of Resilience
What I enjoyed about the novel Dear Missing Friend, is the fact that it’s Susan McGuirk’s family history and it’s fictionalized to fill in the blanks of what these people felt and their motivations for the choices they made. I could see myself there doing the 1800s as Susan’s writing immerses you in the story. The lesson that transcends throughout the past as well as the present is that the ebb and flow of life is as though an ocean. Some seasons are rough and others are joyous, but what gets us through both is resilience, determination and faith. Dear Missing Friend will be available today on May 19th 2026 wherever you get your books! Thank you Susan McGuirk for writing your family story and doing an interview with me too! Thank you Jennfier Richards, from Over The River Public Relations for sending me a copy!
