Wake-Up Calls
Wake-Up Calls
To say Kit Porterfield is dealing with a lot in her personal life is an understatement. A bombshell bigger than anything Kit is dealing with hits. Kit finds out her Aunt Maxine Meadows, an aunt she never knew existed, dies and leaves her a campground in Maine. While in Tolerance Maine, Kit makes lasting friendships and finds the answers as to who she is and the mystery surrounding her family.
Predictable, but Good
I love the descriptive writing, especially describing Maine & the lake as well as the small town. I like how we find out about Maxine’s past especially the love story she had with the author. It takes a somewhat dark turn at one point with what they find in the quilt. I also saw what the mystery was right away which made the story predictable, but the story did keep my interest. I think it could have been shorter at times and the epilogue I felt was tied up too neatly. I also like how Kit had to realize that the disintegration of her marriage wasn’t just Russ’s fault but hers as well and that they could remain friends. Wake-Up Calls will be available on May 1st!
