Reminders Of Him: A Tale Of Love, Grief & Forgiveness
Reminders Of Him: A Tale of Love, Grief & Forgiveness
All Kenna Rowan wants to do is to start her life anew and reconnect with her 5-year-old daughter Diem after serving five years in prison for a tragic mistake that took the life of her boyfriend and Diem’s father Scotty. Kenna realizes soon after getting out, that starting over and reconnecting with Diem would be harder than she thought. Scotty’s parents, Grace & Patrick, are determined to keep Kenna out of Grace’s life. Ledger is a local bar owner, gets close to Diem despite mixed feelings and as their romantic feelings grow, so does the risk of Grace and Patrick finding out. Can Kenna get the forgiveness of Scotty’s parents or will their grudge against her keep her from her daughter forever?
Touching & Emotional with a slightly slow middle
I ended up taking a break from Colleen Hoover for a bit after not enjoying Never Never, Regretting You. Even Maybe Someday was better but not on the caliber of her other books. You have Kenna who is trying so hard to restart her life and to prove that she’s sorry that her actions have caused the death of Scotty and not many people are giving her a chance. Even Ledger is torn. He understands why Scotty’s parents are angry, but he also knows that Kenna is dealing with her own pain & she’s trying to do better. I also feel the Dear Scotty letters opened a little bit more about Kenna herself as well as the relationship between her and Scotty. The middle of the book the pacing was a little slower but that was my only huge complaint. I like the chemistry of Kenna & Ledger. I also became teary eyed at the end. Reminders Of Him is a tale of grief, love, forgiveness and second chances. If you’re a Colleen Hoover fan or a casual reader of hers, pick up a copy of Reminders Of Him now wherever you get your books.
