The Snake Eater: It Snaked the interest out of me

A young woman named Selena had gotten out of a bad relationship and with only a few dollars to her name, she and her black lab, Copper, are on their way to her aunt’s house to start over. Upon reaching the small town Quartz Creek Arizona where her aunt dwells, she finds that her aunt has died. Luckily she is dwelling in her house till she can get back on her feet. Selena meets new friends a priest and her deceased aunt’s neighbor Grandma Billy. But while making a new home in Quartz Creek, Selena finds that there are gods, magic and dark forces that her aunt made a bargain with that now wants Selena to pay up.

Great Idea but failed to keep my interest

I’m sure T. Kingfisher is an excellent author but so far The Snake Eater wasn’t for me. I also couldn’t get interested in her fairytale retelling of The Goose Girl last year.  I liked the idea of The Snake Eater but the story just dragged on and on and on and it was a short book. Does this mean I’ve given up on T. Kingfisher? No. I’m sure there’s one book out there that will intrigue me. But it snaked the interest out of me. The Snake Eater will be available on December 1st wherever you get your books.
