The Battle Of The Bookshops

The Battle Of The Bookshops A Battle To Get Through

Battle Of The Bookshops tells the story about Jules Caplethorne returning to the seaside town of Portneath to help her Aunt save her old bookshop. She also must face competition against Roman Montbeau who opened a big brand-new bookstore in the same town. Immediately to Jules, Roman is an enemy. But the two don’t expect to start falling for one another. Can their enmity be put aside as their feelings become stronger?

 Great Idea Something Was Missing

I like the idea that the story is a combination of Romeo & Juliet, The Hating Game & You’ve Got Mail. I like the setting takes place in England. I love stories that take place in places that aren’t the United States. I also enjoy the backstory as to why the Capelthornes & Montebau’s have been feuding for centuries. The unfortunate thing is it took forever for the story to get interesting for me. The pacing was off and I felt something was missing to give the book that extra special something that would have made it great. Does it mean I will give up on Poppy? Nope. I will give another one of her books a chance. The Battle Of The Bookshops is available today on August 19th wherever you get your books!
