Lime Juice Money: Needed More Fruit In The Juice
Lime Juice Money: Needed More Fruit In The Juice
Hearing impaired woman Laelia Wylde along with her two children & boyfriend Aidrian who everyone nicknames Aid, are moving to Belize to make a fresh start after things go up in smoke in England. It’s also nice that Laelia and her kids are close to her father and she’s getting away from her sister. Belize is beautiful but the jungles are filled with predators both animal and human and full of secrets waiting to pounce. Laelia doesn’t know why her father has a distrust of Aid and is trying to turn her against him, but Laelia is sure that she must have misheard….
Beautiful Setting but The Story Dragged
I love the setting of Belize in the book its very atmospheric and I could see everything from the jungle & wildlife as well as feel the heat. Not many books take place in Belize so that’s something that I liked with the book. For a short book though, the story dragged as though you were floating on your back in the water and your mind were somewhere else. The ending was the best part as everything was revealed. I know this book was described as a blend of The Mosquito Coast & The White Lotus, and as a fan of White Lotus, I think this could have used work. It wasn’t the worst thing I read, it had potential, but it was missing something. Lime Juice Money by Jo Morey is available today on August 12th wherever you get your books!
